About this Surf Camp

Iguana Surf Boutique Hotel sits above Tamarindo's main beach in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Three floors of boutique rooms wrap around an open lobby, with a rooftop infinity pool, sun loungers, and the ROCK BAR restaurant looking out over the Pacific. The Iguana Surf team has run surf trips and lessons in Tamarindo since the late 1990s and added the hotel to the mix in 2024.

The Surf Camp Package is a complete week: airport pickup from Liberia (Saturday 2pm), boutique room of your choice, daily breakfast at the rooftop restaurant, daily surf lessons with the Iguana Surf instructors, a one-day surf trip to a nearby break (Playa Grande, Avellanas, or Negra depending on the swell), video analysis review, a photo package of your sessions, an Iguana Surf rashguard, and unlimited board rental for the whole stay. The team also handles agency discounts on local tours — volcanoes, catamarans, waterfalls — for anything you want to add.

Rooms run from a Dorm Room and standard Private King or Twin up to a Side Ocean View Suite, balcony Suites, a two-bedroom Family Suite (four-guest minimum), and the Presidential Suite on the top floor. All check-ins are Saturday with 5, 6, or 7-night packages so the surf group stays cohesive through the week.

Cancellation Policy

Deposit equal to our commission required at booking. Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival. After 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable. Balance is settled directly with Iguana Surf on arrival in USD.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in Saturday from 2:00 PM (Liberia Airport pickup at 14:00). Check-out before 11:00 AM on Thursday (5-night), Friday (6-night), or Saturday (7-night).

Minimum Stay

Stays of 5, 6, or 7 nights only, with Saturday check-in. The 7-night Saturday-to-Saturday package matches the airport transfer rhythm.

What's Included

Round-trip airport transfer from Liberia (LIR), daily breakfast at the ROCK BAR rooftop restaurant, daily surf lessons with equipment, one full-day surf trip to a nearby break, video analysis, surf photo package, an Iguana Surf rashguard, and unlimited board rental for the duration of your stay.
