Enjoy Native sits inside a restored Asturian casona, a stone manor that has stood in the green hills above Navia for more than 400 years. It started life as a priests’ house. Today it’s a quiet, adults-only surf camp with five independent apartments and a max of 19 guests at a time.
Read more about Enjoy NativeThe beach is five minutes away, Asturias Airport (OVD) is 35 to 45 minutes by road, and the Celtic ruins of Castro de Coaña are a short walk through the meadow.
Five apartments share the main house, each with a full kitchen, a living room and a private ensuite. One room has a jacuzzi, another a clawfoot bathtub. Stone walls, wood floors, soft beds. The old stable out back has been turned into El Chamizo: bar one night, concert hall the next, plus yoga studio, board game room and summer cinema. The garden runs a slackline, balance boards, a surfskate area, an archery range with straw bales, slate BBQ terrace and private parking.
Lessons run with FreSurf School, a local outfit led by Pablo and based at Frejulfe beach. The 9-seater shuttle drops you at Frejulfe, the Barayo Natural Biosphere Reserve, or Otur, all minutes from the camp. Summer brings small, soft beach-break waves, ideal for first-timers and most of the people who book here. Boards, wax and wetsuits are included.
A standard week runs Monday afternoon to Sunday morning: four 2-hour sessions with stretching after. The rest of the day is yours: trekking, volleyball, archery, a slow lunch in your apartment kitchen, BBQ on the terrace, or a paid extra (rock climbing, horseback, kayak, SUP, spa, CrossFit, on-site physio). Every week throws in a surprise activity and a Las Catedrales day trip 20 minutes away when the tide cooperates.
Half-board: buffet breakfast with local bread, coffee and fruit, plus an Asturian-style homemade dinner. Think fabada, lacón, empanada. Heura partners on the vegan plates, and most diets can be accommodated with a heads-up. Lunch is on you, which is why every apartment has a full kitchen.
Adults only, average age 29 to 40, mostly solo travellers (no single supplement waiver, but you won’t be the only one). The team speaks Spanish, English and German. Ramón founded the project, Davo, Alex, Marina, Lupe, Lasse and the rest of the crew run the day-to-day.
National Geographic and Vogue have both covered the camp, and it took the AJE Asturias 2025 innovation award. Madrid City Council’s CIEC promotes the circular-economy work. Past retreats: Endesa, Primark, Ecoalf, Dell. Local suppliers, scheduled beach cleanups, sustainability handled without a fuss.
