About this Surf Camp

Shaka Surf Morocco is a small surf house in Tamraght, a quiet village above Morocco’s Agadir coast. Run by Hassan and Beth since 2016, the house takes a maximum of 11 guests — which means you’ll actually get to know the people you’re surfing with. Six days of surf coaching are included with every stay, with sessions rotating across 15+ breaks between Tamraght, Taghazout, and beyond.

Three meals a day come with every package. Breakfast is buffet-style, lunch is packed for the beach, and dinner is Moroccan home cooking served family-style around a big shared table. Two rooftop terraces with ocean and mountain views handle the post-surf wind-down. The surf breaks are a 15-minute walk, and daily transport to the lineup is included.

Rooms are spread across two floors — doubles, twins, and one triple. All shared bathrooms, no air conditioning, no pool. This is a proper surf house, not a resort. Upgrade to Surf Guiding if you want a local guide to take you to the best point breaks, or add daily yoga on the rooftop with the Surf & Yoga package. Airport transfers from Agadir are free for 7-night stays.

The best surf hostel in Morocco!

I found Shaka Surf after asking GPT for the best surf hostels in Morocco, and it honestly exceeded all my expectations. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, the food was amazing, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The morning yoga sessions were a perfect start to the day, the terrace view was stunning, and every day we surfed at different spots depending on the conditions. We even got to visit the music festival in Essaouira during our stay, which made the whole experience even more special.
