Wanderlust Surf Camp sits on the eastern edge of Arugam Bay, a few steps from Sri Lanka’s most consistent surf — Main Point, Peanut Farm, Elephant Rock and Whiskey Point all within tuk tuk distance. The camp opened in 2025, founded by Rebekah, a former educator turned adventurer, and Kutty, a local surfer born and raised in Arugam Bay. The vibe is small, social, and personal — never more than three guests per instructor, and a team that knows everyone by name within a day.
Read more about Wanderlust Surf Camp, Arugam BayThe setup works for every level. Beginners start on a sandy beach break with soft boards, in-water support and a calm pace. Intermediate and advanced surfers go straight to the reefs and points, with daily coaching tailored to what each person is working on. Weekly video analysis sessions back at the bar mean you actually see what your body is doing on the wave.
Mornings start with a light breakfast on the porch, then surf with Kutty and the team — morning AND afternoon, every single day. Afternoons between sessions are open — exploration, a coconut by the sea, yoga at nearby studios, or wildlife safaris in Kumana and the lagoons. Evenings are chill: group dinners, surf footage on the wall, and the salty kind of tiredness that only comes after a good session.
