Joyu Surf House

The house is a converted villa with three private double rooms and two four-bed shared rooms. Common spaces include a living room with a projector, a furnished terrace with hammocks, and a garden with ping pong and a slackline. Breakfast is homemade every morning — fresh brioche, pancakes, mango muesli, and good coffee.

The surf setup is the real draw. Geoffrey runs small-group guiding sessions (max eight surfers) in a loaded 4×4, hitting spots from Parlementia and Côte des Basques to Hossegor and across the border into Spain. The board quiver is serious — hand-shaped fish, mid-lengths, and longboards from Christenson, Wegener, and Lovelace. Beginners get sorted through a partner school with certified coaches, boards, and wetsuits included.

Jutta handles the kitchen — fresh, local, mostly organic. Lunch boxes and dinners are available five days a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays off). The whole place runs on a small-group philosophy: roughly 20 guests max, eco-conscious sourcing, bikes for getting around, and a 9-seat 4×4 for surf trips.
